Brigitte started the BBSCF in 2011 after her visit to Ghana, where she was overwhelmed by the peaceful community of loving children and families who strongly touched her heart. Having grown up in poverty herself, Brigitte felt a deep sentiment for the lack of food, provisions, and education available for the people of Ada. Shortly thereafter, she created the foundation as a means to solve the food and education crisis for that region. Since then, the BBSCF has expanded to include aiding with children’s tuition, uniforms, textbooks, health care, recreation activities, music programs, field trips, and most recently has launched the Community Food Project to ensure that less children go hungry.
